City of David
The story of the City of David begins 3000 years ago, when King David left his city Hebron for a small hilltop city known as Jerusalem. Years later, Solomon, David’s son built the First Temple on that same spot. Today, the story of the City of David continues. Deep underground, the City of David reveals some of the most exciting archeological finds of the ancient world. The visitor is exposed to the recently excavated fortresses and passageways. The underground tour ends at the Gihon Spring, the major water source of Jerusalem for over 1000 years and the place where King Solomon was anointed king. The adventurous visitor can wade through the spring in King Hezekiah’s 2700 year- old water tunnel - one of the wonders of ancient engineering.
