Day 1 - Arrival

Afternoon: Arrive at Tel Aviv airport and meet, Israeli tour guide
Drive north to hotel in Galilee
Check in to guest house
Evening: Dinner at guest house
Review itinerary with group leader and guide
Overnight: Kibbutz guest house/hotel on Sea of Galilee

Day 2 - Nazareth and around the Sea of Galilee

Morning: Breakfast at hotel
Drive to Megiddo National Park, overlooking the site of Armageddon" according to the Book of Revelation
Drive to Nazareth     
Visit Church of the Annunciation; stroll through the colorful market in old Nazareth
Return to Sea of Galilee    
Afternoon: St Peter's fish lunch at restaurant on shore of Sea of Galilee
Drive to Mt of Beatitudes, traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount; celebrate Mass
Drive to Capernaum, Jesus' base during his ministry in the north Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee
Return to the kibbutz
Evening: Dinner at guest house
Overnight: Guest house/Hotel on Sea of Galilee

Day 3 - The Golan Heights

Morning: Breakfast at guest house
Meet with Israeli soldiers who were injured in the Second Lebanon War; learn about their experience and their rehabilitation
Drive north to the Banias, whose powerful water serves as one of the sources of the Jordan River and is the site of Caesarea Philippi Visit Mt Bental, overlooking site of decisive tank battle during 1973 Yom Kippur War; view into the Syrian city of Kuneitra, from a decommissioned army bunker
Drive to Katzrin
Afternoon: Lunch on own in Katzrin
Drive to Yardenit at southern end of Sea of Galilee for optional baptismal ceremony
Evening: Dinner at guest house
Overnight: Guest house/Hotel on Sea of Galilee


Day 4 - The Dead Sea

Morning: After breakfast, check out of guest house
Drive south via Jordan Valley past Jericho to Masada; ascend via cable car; tour Herod's fortress and site of the Zealots' last stand against the Romans in 73 A.D.; descend via cable car
Afternoon: Lunch at Masada
Float/swim in Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth
Visit Qumran where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered in 1947
Drive to Jerusalem
Evening: Check in to hotel
Dinner at hotel
Overnight: Jerusalem

Day 5 - Old Jerusalem

Morning:Buffet breakfast at hotel
Walk down the Mount of Olives
Visit Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36), Bethesda (John 5:1); celebrate Mass
Visit Church of the Holy Sepulcher
Afternoon: Lunch on own in Old City
Visit Kotel (Western Wall) and then the Southern Wall excavations at the Davidson Archaeological Park
Evening: Dinner at hotel
Guest speaker: Israel Update    
Overnight: Jerusalem

Day 6 - Bethlehem & Israel Museum

Morning:After early breakfast, return to Old City; go up on Temple Mount
Drive to Bethlehem (don't forget to bring your passports!)
Visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherds' Field; opportunity to celebrate Mass
Afternoon: Lunch in Bethlehem
Return to Jerusalem
Visit the Israel Museum including the Shrine of the Book, housing some of the Dead Sea scrolls found in Qumran; then see the famous Second Temple model of the city of Jerusalem
Evening: Dinner at hotel
Overnight: Jerusalem

Day 7 - Memory & Continuity

Morning: Breakfast; check out of hotel
Visit Yad Vashem, Holocaust Museum & Memorial
Afternoon: Lunch on own in Machaneh Yehudah, Jerusalem's open-air market
Drive to Tel Aviv
Check in to hotel
Evening: Dinner on own in Tel Aviv port, popular spot with many restaurants and cafes
Overnight: Tel Aviv

Day 8  – Jaffa & Tel Aviv

Morning: Breakfast
Walking tour of the ancient seaport of Jaffa
See the entrance to the house of Simon the Tanner (Tabitha, Acts 9:36) Hear the story of Jonah and the whale (Jonah 1)
Visit St Peter's Church in Jaffa; celebrate Mass
Visit Independence Hall, where the State of Israel was declared by David Ben Gurion on May 14, 1948
Continue to arts & crafts fair on Nachalat Binyamin Street pedestrian mall
Afternoon: Lunch on own at fair or in the Carmel Market, Tel Aviv's open-air market
Free time to shop and explore the market
Return to hotel to rest and freshen up
Traditional Sabbath dinner at hotel.
Evening: Go to members' homes for dinner Return to Tel Aviv
Overnight:Tel Aviv

Day 9 - Caesarea

Morning: Breakfast
Drive to Caesarea National Park, with archaeological ruins spanning over 2000 years including an impressive Roman theater and beautifully preserved aqueduct
Tour park, Return to Tel Aviv; visit site where Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin was assassinated by a Jewish fanatic on November 1995
Afternoon: Lunch on own, Free time, Return to hotel for final worship session and discussion wrapping up trip, Late check out
Evening: Dinner in local restaurant
Depart for airport & fly back home
